The rotary volume control on the front of the right hand cup allows you to adjust the level of ambient noise supplied into the muffs - clearly hear your colleagues, alarms and moving equipment whilst always ensuring that harmful noise levels are blocked (no need to remove the hearing protection to hear your colleagues). With the volume control dial in the off postion the ear defender becomes like any other passive ear muff with SNR 32 level protection.
